Question: What Should I Do After a Rideshare Accident?
Answer: After an accident, it’s crucial to act immediately. Start by documenting the driver’s behavior both prior to and at the time of the accident. Next, check yourself for any visible injuries. If injuries are apparent but you are not in significant pain, take photos with your phone. However, because back, neck, or spinal injuries may be delayed and not immediately noticeable, avoid moving unnecessarily. It’s safer to wait for EMT professionals to arrive and assist you in exiting your vehicle safely. Once you are out, you can ask the EMTs to help take pictures with your phone to document the scene—this can be critical for your case. Afterward, notify the driver that you plan to contact an ambulance to escort you to the nearest hospital for a thorough medical evaluation and documentation of potential injuries. Before the ambulance arrives, be sure to gather the other driver’s personal information. Once all necessary steps are taken, contact Rideshare One Legal at:
Question: Should I Give the Rideshare Company a Recorded Statement?
Answer: The short answer is "No". FYI, Rideshare companies often reach out to accident victims within 24 hours of the reported incident. This common tactic is designed to catch you off guard and can later be used against you. If a rideshare company requests a recorded statement, do not provide one. Instead, direct them to your attorney. If you don’t have legal representation yet, we encourage you to contact Rideshare One Legal. We are here to protect your rights and SERVE IN YOUR BEST INTEREST.
